Το “Shakes” το έγραψε ο Luke Hemmings ένα βράδυ στη Νέα Υόρκη, μια περίοδο που ήταν συνέχεια στον δρόμο λόγω των συνεχόμενων συναυλιών του. Αυτός είναι ο λόγος που το κάνει μελαγχολικό ενώ ταυτόχρονα δείχνει την θέληση του να γυρίσει σπίτι του.

Υπάρχει λαχτάρα για αγάπη και αποδοχή του εαυτού στους στίχους και αυτό είναι το μήνυμα που θέλει να περάσει. Το track θα περιλαμβάνεται στο επερχόμενο EP του “Boy”.
